Papier Plume Red Beans and Rice from the New Orleans collection is a kidney bean red ink with low shading. It dries in 30 seconds in a medium nib on Rhodia and has an average flow. Papier Plume ink is made in the United States.
Red beans and rice is an emblematic dish of Louisiana Creole cuisine traditionally made on Mondays with red beans, vegetables (bell pepper, onion, and celery), spices (thyme, cayenne pepper, and bay leaf) and pork bones as left over from Sunday dinner, cooked together slowly in a pot and served over rice.
With this ink Papier Plume tried to capture the color of the Red Beans (the rice being the paper you write on). You don't have to wait till Monday to fill your pen with this delicious ink, just don't blame us if you get hungry.
